some people are simply ignorant and ruin good things for others.
i had one mum who read through my entire previous years blogging and comments from kids and wrote me a six page letter outlining instances where she thought th children undermined my authority and pointed out how i could be accused of other more sinister things. i nearly quit on the spot.
luckily there are sensible parents out there to balance the ledger.

I love the blogpost by your son. He deserved the award. I wonder what my children would say about me. I think they would have similar views on my spare time and special interests. Love those roasts. Happy Mothers' Day to you

Hi Barb,
Thanks for sharing this song - very appropriate for Mother's day this weekend. My son was awarded "Blog of the Week" for his post on "My Mum" - at www.jingzy.globalstudent.org.au.
Children can be very perceptive can't they?
Regards, Britt.

Well done for diving in! I must admit I have become somewhat of a lurker over the past few months... not intentionally, think it was just a lack of time!

J, I think you have a good point about getting it beyond just being the 'schools problem' to combining the knowledge building and education as a community. We know that both students, parents, teachers and the community need educating to good practice and use.

I am unsure about it from an USA perspective as I am from NZ. There is a varying degree of reaction to internet safety in regards to whether things should be banned or there should be more education - this seems to be a worldwide thought process though.

Hi Barb. Like you I sometimes find that I've nothing new to add to a post because the previous commenters have pretty much said it all. In that case I say nothing and I think that's fine. I think the conversation has to be natural and not forced. If you are really interested and have something of value to say, then the situation will just feel right. If it doesn't, then just move on to the next conversation. There's no shortage :-)

Hey Barb, this challenge looks really good. I had a look at the wiki as it's something I would like to improve on also - might just dive in and do it so thank you for the inspiration! Amanda aka heymilly
